Tagged

I ventured out a bit more into the craft blog world, made some new friends, and was tagged by Mrs. Cleaver to list 7 random things about myself, so here goes nothing! Sure don't have time to dig up old pics like she did...maybe once "hell" month in dental school is over...

1. I used to take ice skating lessons. That may not be so random in many places around the world, but in Texas, it's a tad odd. Maybe not so much anymore. We even learned routines a la Kristi Yamaguchi and had a little competition. I think there's still a video tape and blue ribbon lurking around my parents' house somewhere...

2. The only Disney-affiliated theme park I've been to is Disneyland Paris. We didn't exactly take "fun", kid-centric vacations when I was little. We visited family and toured southern plantation homes, the nation's capital, and other history-based venues instead. So glad I've seen so many incredible things in America? Yes. Sad that the only Disney park I've been to is not in America? That would be yes again. Although there are no lines at ALL in Paris....

3. I was born without the capacity to generate 3rd molars. As a future dentist this is probably a neater random thing to me than most people, but hey, I didn't have to go through the usually mandatory right-of-passage involving dry-sockets and chipmunk cheeks. Although I have had my tonsils out which is so similar, maybe I should stop bragging about my amazing genes.

4. I'm a bit of a Trekkie. I know, I know...It started with reruns of the original and grew into an all out love of the Next Generation. Now, I never learned Klingon or went to a convention or anything like that, but owning a Ohura-style uniform for any length of time qualifies. Although I'm sad I never nabbed the go-go boots to go with it...

5. Most of my taste in music came from my dad. Most would probably consider my musical inclinations a bit odd for a young female of my generation, so much so, that I get a little anxious when someone wants to look at my iPod. Like I have some explaining to do...

6. Having dimples is both a blessing and a curse. They're cute and all, but I endured years of people touching and poking my face and trying to make me smile/laugh just so they could see them. When I was born, my mom thought I had a hole in my face because the bigger one was filled with blood. Born smiling? I guess so!

7. When I was a senior in high school, I gave up the X-files for lent. I'm not Catholic, but my addiction was so intense I just had to put a stop to it. Seemed to be a pretty good way to deal with it. I gave up all television except the news (gotta keep up with the rest of the world) and it was a great experience. It's probably worth going through that exercise again...except that the networks seem to do it for me when they take "breaks" from the big shows (LOST) for months on end. Does that count?

Now who to tag?

I think I'll tag Vanessa and Betsy. Ok, gals, hop to it! (I mean, only if you want/have time to!)

Oh my goodness!! What is tagging and how do I do it? Just a brief explanation and then I am good to go. Can't wait . . .

This cracked me up! I love the last random thing...too funny. I should probably try it to rid myself of my addiction to Tootsie Rolls. :) I'll be thinking about my list!

Though I've never owned a uniform, I too love Star Trek. STNG was the show that my family gathered around the tv to watch together. And while I didn't have the uniform, my brother did dressed up as a Star Fleet captain for Halloween one year - I think we stil have the phaser and comm badge somewhere.
