Tidbits...

I made this, and then proceded to eat most of it by myself. I've been going to the gym, now.

I don't know how my Nanna came across this recipe, but its title tells no lies. It is goo-ood. And that's all that's to be said about it. I had a hankering for my NaNa's chocolate sheet cake, but I was out of flour (!) and was forced to make this instead. I'll share the sheet cake later after a trip to the market. It's pretty much the same as Pioneer Woman's if you care to have a look-see...But now for the amazing......

Good Chocolate Cake
1 yellow cake mix (just use a chocolate mix...you might as well!)
1 box instant vanilla pudding
1 box instant chocolate pudding
1/2 c. oil
1 1/2 c. water
4 eggs
12 oz chocolate or white chocolate chips
For cake: bake 1 hr at 350 in bundt pan ("it's a bundt.") and cool 15 mins.
Frosting
1 stick butter
3 1/2 T cocoa
1/3 c. milk
1 box (1/2 bag) powdered sugar
Bring to boil and pour over warm cake (for cupcakes, I mixed it all with beaters like normal butter cream frosting, but it was nice when frosted over a warm cupcake!)

The boat is fixed, so there's been a lot of making sandwiches and loading up the car so we can head to the lake and break her in.

It's been a long time coming. Tomorrow night there's a concert on the lake we've been looking forward to, so I'm excited that we can cruise up to the Harbor in our fixer upper that has had its fixin' and listen to some Beatles. Yeah.

Well, nevermind that whole post-office thing. My Nana's going to Houston tomorrow, so I'm sending the quilts along with a brag-book for my Aunt Jan as another is on the way - and this time it's a boy! That pinkish in the bag is really red, and I think it's the inspiration for the quilt. The fabric is in the wash, and maybe I'll cut it this weekend. I (devilishly) want to make something modern to take to the next guild meeting. Just to start breaking them in a bit : )

The bandana quilt will be finished, soon, too, but it's just killing me. Loops take FOR-EV-ER! (Note to self: just stipple next time. Nobody cares.)

OMG from me too about eating most of the cake!! You really crack me up. I have been craving chocolate cake for so long.......and yes, I can eat most of one too when I get the chance! I am so glad to see that last line "Note to self" - -you are so right. I tell quilters this all the time "Just quilt it, the recipients won't care what technique you use". Good for you!!!
