Christmas-time is Here

Apparently my point and shoot Kodak is a snob.  It will only work with brand name batteries.  It has been ressurrected, but I did take my film to be developed today.  $6.00-10.00 for film developing?  How did we used to do it!?!?  I still have faint hopes for a digital SLR in the relatively near future.  My mom and dad bought each family a camera 2 years ago when Molly was still on the way, and so far, 2/4 have kicked the bucket, and mine is still in ICU.  I will need one for my dental practice...that's a tax deduction, right?? : )

Here's value quilt I've been plugging away on.  Erik came upstairs and took a look at it, and I said, "It works!"  He said, "What works?"  I told him that you just pair the high and low values and expect the pattern when all is said and done.  And, see, it worked!  Still lots of squares being squared...I just ran out of room on my design board.  It's super nice that I can hang it on the wall, now!  Those quilt clips are awesome!

I got the tree set up on Friday, as you can see.  I have this really yucky feeling this holiday that I think is left over from last year.  I just can't get into it, which is craziness because this is *my* holiday.  It's my fave.  I got married during the holidays.  My roommates and I threw holiday galas during college complete with formals, dancing, food, and the Christmas story.   But last year, I spent my holiday studying for boards - missed all the parties, cried, drank too much coffee, spent my time "off" in study rooms at the local library - and passed (thank the Lord!).  I'm really looking forward to falling in love with Christmas again, since it sucked last year.  Let's just get through the next three weeks of torture and then I can breathe in the Christmas Spirit!

Your value quilt makes me want to start one. So cool! Yeah, I love my srl camera. :-) Maybe Santa can bring you one?!?!?

Your quilt is beautiful. You are doing a fine job. I hope Santa brings you a camera and while he's there maybe you can whisper in his ear I'd like one too.
Your tree looks so peaceful. I hope you find your Christmas spirit. It's time to relax and enjoy.
Thanks for sharing.
Merry Christmas and God Bless you and yours.

You reminded me that I have to start training to run a 10k..eek! I'd forgotten, or blocked it out of my memory :) I'm hoping to get cards sent off, but as I'm still not done with my xmas shopping, it might not happen. If I don't get to it, I hope you and Erik have a happy Christmas!
